Ford Chastain
Bio

Ford Chastain has been playing music before live audiences since he was nine years old, as a solo performer, as part of a duo, and as the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter for the rock band Refuje. Ford has played at such venues and events as Opening Night, D-Fest, Festival of the Arts, the Opolis, the Norman Music Festival, Brothers, Othellos, Toby Keiths, the Depot, Catlett Hall, Sooner Theater, Borders, and Second Wind Coffeehouse.

Now in high school, Ford is an accomplished musician, songwriter, and performer with a new six song EP, "If I Leave." On the EP, Ford is joined by some of Oklahoma's best musicians, from such bands as The Starlight Mints, Stardeath, the Chainsaw Kittens, and the Rounders. The EP has been called "freaky good' by Trent Bell, who produced the EP at Bell Labs. Songs from the EP have been playing on college radio stations around the country and are part of the sountrack to The Stanton Family Grave Robbery, an indie film from Singletree Productions.

Ford has also produced four new CDS on his own, "Night Mumbling," "Shhhh," "Rainbow Bliss" and "Gone Too Far." Ford wrote all the songs, sang all vocals, played all instruments, and even did the artwork. Selections from "Night Mumbling" form the sountrack to the indie film Simmons on Vinyl.

Ford's musical interests have veered toward indie rock during the last few years, with electronic and pop leanings. Some of his greatest musical influences include the Strokes, Belle & Sebastian, Granddaddy, Elton John, the Beatles, the Kinks, MGMT, the Clash, ELO, and David Bowie.
