Ford Chastain has been playing music before audiences since he was eight years old, as a solo performer, as part of a duo and as the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter for the rock band Refuje, which Ford founded. During the last six years, Ford has played at such venues and events as Opening Night, D-Fest, Festival of the Arts, the Opolis, Brothers, Othellos, Toby Keiths, the Depot, Catlett Hall, Sooner Theater, the Oklahoma State Fair, Borders, Relay for Life, etc. 

Now, at fourteen and just entering high school, Ford is an accomplished songwriter, having written literally hundreds of songs for his band and as a solo performer. These songs, on average two or three a week, come from his journal. In addition to his new six song EP, Ford is putting together a CD of fourteen of his favorite songs written during the past year and mixed right at home. 

On his new EP, Ford is joined by some of Oklahoma's best musicians, from such bands as the Starlight Mints, Stardeath, the Chainsaw Kittens, and the Rounders. The EP has been referred to as "freaky good" by Trent Bell of Norman-based Bell Labs. 

Ford loves rock music, but his musical interests have veered toward indie rock during the last year, with definite pop leanings. His greatest musical influences lately include the Strokes, Belle & Sebastian, Granddaddy, the Beatles, the Kinks, and David Bowie.
